Out on the town

Last night (friday night) I ended up going out with some Americans, a Uruguan, and a Valician.  We first met at the apartment of a friend of the American law professor (Aaron).  We picked up some beer of course to bring.  The apparent beer of choice here is CruzCampo.  And note that they sell the packs in quantities of 4 and the bottles are only 10 ozs.  However, the 4 pack was only about $3.25...I think that's pretty good (taking into account that you only get 4 and they're 10 ozs).  His friend's place was pretty cool.  Apparently his friend (Riley) has been living in Pamplona for almost 3 years and works in the Economy department at the University of Navarra.  From his place in Pamplona, he can connect to his TV stations in his house in San Fransisco so he is able to watch American TV.  So cool! 

While we were at Riley's house playing A-hole (I love card games!), a really cool storm passed over the city.  I got some great pics b/c their apartment looks over Citadella park.  These are in order of the storm passing through.  They're taken at about 9pm (notice how light out it still is). 

Then about 11pm we went to a pincho (for some reason they call tapas pinchos here) bar for a late cena.  I got an amazing pincho of something similar to a mozzarella stick with cheese and ham.  Then we went to another bar that was more like a dance club.  I asked for the beer on tap (b/c it's always the cheapest) and what did I get?  Budweiser!  Yuck!  That was the only beer they had on tap.  Then at about 2:30am we went home.  And now I am recovering.

I was going to explore the city today but it's been raining off and on.

Tomorrow I am heading to San Sebastian for the day with another professor to explore.
